SHTF Defense
In 2021, it goes without saying, be prepared for the unexpected. With the 8 million new gun owners coming into the fold, it is our responsibility in the gun community to not only welcome, but to educate. We build a better community through education. One of the most common questions I get is “What kind of gun should I get?”. While a simple question on its face it carries plenty of parameters that need to be known.
Will you be concealed carrying?
What is the desired max range?
Is this for home defense?
Do you want a full size, compact, micro handgun?
These are just the tip of the iceberg. I believe every armed citizen should have 1 good rifle and 1 good handgun at a MINIMUM. The biggest thing to remember, is to get what’s comfortable and fits your hand the best when picking a hand gun.
Rifles
The AR15 is the gold standard in rifles today as well as the most commonly available. With some 30-40 million rifles in the US, there is no shortage of manufactures pumping out these bangers. However, there are some caveats namely in the quality department. See, with mass influx of new gun owners following the 2020 “peaceful protests” companies were building rifles faster than their quality control could do their jobs. So, you end up in a situation where budget rifles have MORE corners cut during production, which never decreased the price just increased the speed at which they can fulfill an order. Therefore, we must set a baseline quality in the mid-range of pricing starting at about $900. The sky’s the limit from here. The list below should serve as a guideline and not an end all be all. Links to the rifles are in the prices listed.
